arrow-yellowDecember 6 - National Day of Remembrance
The Parliament of Canada established this day following the death of
fourteen young women tragically killed December 6, 1989 at l École
Polytechnique in Montreal. This day represents a time to pause and reflect on
the phenomenon of violence against women in our society and think about
all the women and girls who live daily with the threat of violence and those
who have died as a result of deliberate acts of violence. It is also a day for
communities and each one of us to reflect on concrete actions that we can
take to prevent and eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls.
