YWCA Social Action
In accordance with the YWCA of/du Canada, the YWCA of Lethbridge and District has a "tradition of commitment to process orientated social change." As we strive in our programs to make a real difference in the lives of women, we are struck by the many varying needs, obstacles and inequities that women encounter.

The Social Action Committee believes that "to have an opinion is not enough" - we seek to educate, set priorities for action, meet with elected officials and other policy makers creating dialogue on issues that truly impact women.
We continue to deal with issues of poverty, health care and violence through public forums, information campaigns and in aiding in a unified national and provincial voice for and by women.
We will be part of the solution. The committee composition includes representatives of the board of directors, staff and community members with an interest in the social development of women.
